ABOUT B&B COLLABORATION

A few years ago I asked a talented home and garden blogger friend, Kellytopaz Firehawk, if she would be willing to blog a number of my product.  Kelly kindly agreed to do this for me.  She had the freedom to choose the items she wanted to blog and the time to do it, without any deadlines.  She did an excellent blog post with many views to date on flickr.  Kelly's post in Flickr.

From this came the idea of B&B Collaboration - where bloggers can select one store to feature as the main focus of that blog, to select the items that inspire them and blog them.

B&B Collaboration assists established home and garden designers and bloggers in Second Life to work together in a more flexible and creative way.   It provides an opportunity for bloggers to have more time and choice in their blogging and for designers to have more of their new and older products featured.

For bloggers there are often the  requirements of event deadlines, having a large number of stores to blog for and the demands of real life.  The B&B Collaboration takes into account these demands and provides bloggers more time to blog and opportunity to select what they wish to blog, to allow them to be inspired in their blogging.

For designers working this way allows for more of their new and older home and garden builds to be featured by bloggers, to inspire and tempt shoppers.

HOW IT WORKS

At the beginning of the month bloggers pick a store from the selection of home and garden designers in the group to blog.     They have that month to create the scene and post once they have the items.  The items they select can be new or old, as long as they are available to be purchased inworld.

Once the blog post is completed, bloggers send a notice to the B&B Collaboration group with links to the post and to their flickr links.    The picture is added to the B&B Collaboration flickr group.

The designer also shares the blogger's flickr link and blog post on their own social media.

If bloggers have time, they can choose to feature more than one store during the month.

A FEW RULES

For Blog Posts
  • The maximum number of items requested from one store is 8.
  • The bloggers must complete the blog post within that month.
  • No avatars in the blog post.
  • You can do more than one blog post of your chosen store.
  • You can include other home and garden items from other stores outside of the group, but the main focus of the blog must be the items selected from the chosen store for that blog.
  • You can select to do more than one store from the group in a month if you have the time.  This is optional.

For Blogging in The Group
  • Be an active home and garden blogger.
  • Bloggers do not have to blog for B&B every month, but they must blog at least once within a 3 month period.
  • No blogging for 3 months for the group will result in removal from the group.   This is to keep the group active.
  • Bloggers can not blog the same store for a two month period for 2 reasons.
    • This allows time for designers to create new products before they are blogged by the same blogger again.
    • It allows for the opportunity for all stores to be considered for blogging.
  • Please let the group owner/manager know if you are unable to blog for a period of time.
  • If removed from the group, bloggers will be able to join again if they are able to commit to blogging again.
**B&B Collaboration blogging is separate from any normal required blogging for stores and events.

For Designers

  • Have an established home and garden store - templates and original mesh both accepted.
  • To provide the bloggers with the requested items within 1 - 3 days of the items being requested.
  • If one designer gets  requests from a lot of bloggers they can decline any of the bloggers for that month.
  • A designer can decline any items requested if they have a specific reason, for example a request for an adult version of an item, when only a pg version is needed.
  • To share the posts of your store items on your own social media.
  • Please inform the group owner/ manager if
    • - the store is relocating
    • - the designer is going to be away from SL for a period of time
    • - they are wishing withdraw from the group.
